Description
Stepperworld introduces an economical high-current, 3 axis controller based on our popular SP-3 design. The FET-3 uses the same interface as the SP-3 but adds a high-current Power MOSFET output section.

The FET-3 is suitable for light and heavy duty Stepper motors (up to 500 oz in) The FET-3 can drive unipolar stepper motors- 5, 6, or 8 wire. Stepping mode (Wave Drive, Hi Torque, Half-Step) for each axis is selectable by DIP switch.

The FET-3 uses a standard "step/direction" interface which is compatible with most Stepper/CNC software. The included test software allows you to jog the motors from a Windows PC- change the rate, and direction of rotation.

Power Supply

The X and Y Motors share a common Power Supply. The Z Motor may be driven from a separate Power Supply. If a single power supply is used for all 3 axis, with heavy gauge wire jumper XY+ to Z+ and also jumper XY- to Z-.

Use Separate Z supply to gain current capability, or mix motors of different voltage ratings. (In some applications it may be desirable to run one axis at higher torque.) The X,Y,Z labels are arbitrary and may be re-defined in the configuration file for the CNC program you choose.

In addition to the motor supply voltage(s), 5 volts must be supplied to drive the onboard logic.
